Asparagus Bundles

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at If fresh crab or Monterey Bay spot prawns are available, top each bundle with some of the cooked seafood.

6 - 10 fresh asparagus spears
2 teaspoons unsalted butter or olive oil
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
long green onion tops, or chives, or a strip of roasted red bell pepper

Prepare the asparagus, wash it well, and place it in a glass or ceramic dish. Cover with glass or ceramic lid. Cook in microwave 2 - 4 minutes. (Or steam the asparagus in a stove top asparagus steamer.) Do not overcook. In meantime, combine butter and juice and when asparagus is done, season with the lemon butter. Wrap and tie 3-5 asparagus spears with the onion tops and arrange on serving platter.
