Brown Rice with Fresh Asparagus

1 cup brown rice
Combine rice, water or broth, and salt in a covered ceramic or glass bowl with a lid. Cover. Microwave on high for 10 minutes, then on half power for 25 minutes, or until the liquids are absorbed and the rice is done. Set aside. In meantime, steam or gently saute the asparagus slices in a skillet, covered, with 2-3 tablespoons water until just barely tender and bright green. Add the seasoning, and serve with the brown rice. There are so many ready made good quality sauces and salsas that make this a different recipe each time you make it.
