Pumpkin Bread

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. This recipe was submitted by Nancy Johnson of Hollister just before her untimely death in an automobile accident. Cheers to Nancy and her great spirit.

4 cups cooked pumpkin
1 cup salad oil
4 cups white sugar
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking soda
4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 cups chopped nuts
1 cup chocolate chips

Mix pumpkin, oil, sugar and then add dry ingredients. Add chopped nuts and chocolate chips. Put in greased and floured pans and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Watch last 20 minutes, cover with foil if getting too brown. Makes 3 loaves, 8x5"
