Ultimate Bar Cookies

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com.

2 cups all-purpose unbleached flour
1/2 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1/4 - 1/3 cup coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
3/4 cup white chocolate baking pieces
1 1/4 cup milk chocolate baking pieces
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup raw sugar

For Crust, beat flour, the 1/2 cup sugar, and the 1/2 cup butter in a medium mixing bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed till mixture forms fine crumbs. Pat firmly into the bottom of a jelly roll pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 - 15 minutes or till lightly browned. Transfer pan to a wire rack. Sprinkle nuts, white and milk chocolate baking pieces over hot crust.
Heat and stir the 3/4 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in a batter bowl on high in microwave till completely melted and bubbly. Pour evenly over layers in pan. Bake 10 - 12 minutes more or just till bubbly around edges. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Great as a snack, for lunch boxes and as a nice dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top with maybe a drizzle of hot fudge!
