French Toast Waffles

a neat quick trick

1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon real vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt
sliced bread
pure maple syrup

Preheat waffle iron. Whisk together egg, milk, butter, vanilla, and salt. Lightly butter the hot waffle iron even if it is non-stick. Dip bread into batter and cook as for a waffle. Serve with maple syrup.
