Lots of raw vegetables, such as carrots and celery sticks, radish slices, fresh grapes, etc.! On a plate, simply arrange 3-4 different cheeses of interesting shapes and flavors. Choose traditional cheeses along with some interesting ones people may not have tasted. Also, provide a selection of vegan / vegetarian cheeses and sausages that are now readily available in most grocery stores. Garnish with snipped fresh herbs and edible flowers. Snipped fresh sage is great with cheddar, snipped chives and their flowers are wondeful when presenting Cotswald, and fresh edible rose petals make a great garnish for a good ripe brie. Provide French bread and a cheese knife for each person. Tear, spread, and eat. Oh, don't forget the wine. Allow about 30-45 minutes for this course, with plenty of great conversation.
