Masa Dough for Tamales

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com.

3/4 cup lard
2 1/2 cups masa harina
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups warm chicken broth or water
(a little chile powder or other dried pepper mixture could be added, if desired)

Beat the lard until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, using just enough liquid until the dough holds together well.
