Orange and Dried Plum Compote

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at A wonderful dessert as is, or serve with cookies or sweet breads. Great for a breakfast side dish. Double or triple the measurements as needed!

1 orange
1 cup dried plums (aka prunes), sliced
1/3 cup water
pinch sea salt

Zest the orange into a glass or ceramic batter bowl. Peel and slice the orange, adding the slices along with the prunes, water and salt. Cover with a glass or ceramic plate. Cook in microwave 3-5 minutes. Cool and serve in beautiful bowls.
