Great Sugar Cookies

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/4 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup light corn syrup or pancake syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream butter and sugar until well blended.
Add eggs, syrup, and vanilla; blend well.
Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt)
and gradually add, blend until just combined.
Refrigerate for 1 hour or over night.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Roll out half of the dough to desired thickness 1/4 - 1/2 inch.
Cut out with favorate cookie cutters.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 8 - 11 minutes.
Makes approximately 3-4 dozen depending on the cookie size.
