Toffee Splinters with Ice Cream

1/2 cup unsalted butter
In batter bowl, combine butter and sugar. Microwave on high 2 minutes. Add nuts and salt. Place graham cracker squares in buttered 2 quart glass or ceramic baking dish, to cover the bottom. Pour syrup over crackers. Microwave 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate and microwave another 30 seconds. Let stand 2-3 minutes, and then spread chocolate evenly over top. Cool. Break apart into pieces or cut into squares. Also great as a dessert with a scoop of ice cream or sorbet.
