Asian cooks have always steamed their rice, and lately electric rice cookers have become very popular. A microwave oven is a natural steamer, and makes all rice cooking a breeze. You need a covered ceramic or glass dish. Serve this rice on a plate of fresh local greens, and dollop with any flavorful sauce or dressing, such as the Stir Fry and Dipping Sauce. 1 cup Jasmine or other rice Put all ingredients in a glass or ceramic batter bowl or covered casserole dish. Cover with a glass or ceramic lid (no plastic!) and cook on high for 5 minutes, then on 1/2 power for 14-15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.
