Cranberry Orange Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at

1 12oz. bag of fresh cranberries
1 cup of maple syrup or sugar
1 orange, thinly sliced

Wash and drain the cranberries. Zest the orange and then slice it thinly, removing the white peeling and any seeds. Combine all ingredients in a glass or ceramic batter bowl. Cook in microwave for 7 minutes. Stir. Allow to cool before serving, scooping it into a beautiful bowl.
