Green Beans with Toasted Almonds

1-2 pounds young green beans, stemmed but with the tender green tip intact
Blanch the green beans in a large pot of rapidly boiling water for 3-5 minutes, just until tender. When they are cooked, quickly remove from water and rinse in cold water to stop the cooking.
