Popcorn with Olive Oil and Sea Salt

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. This is the best healthful snack! I like to use a microwave popcorn popper, but any popcorn popper will work!

1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/3 cup popping corn
fine sea salt, as desired

In bottom of microwave corn popper, drizzle olive oil and then add the corn. Measure it, do not guess so that you can get your timing down pat. Microwave on high, using 3 minutes as a guide for timing. Do not open oven, let it pop. Adjust the timings next time to get it just right. For instance, my microwave oven at my house takes 3 minutes and 45 seconds but the microwave oven here at the store takes about 3 minutes. Once you do know the timing, it will always be the same as long as you use cold corn and measure it. (I recommend that you store the unused package of corn in the freezer to keep it fresh, and the popcorn will pop better when it is cold.) Salt as desired.
