Stuffed Cheesy Hamburgers Deluxe
From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. These are best if done in a pan or a grill pan as they may "drip" a bit if putting onto an open barbeque grill.
1 pound lean ground beef (grass fed preferred)
Combine ground beef, salt, pepper, spices, honey and water. Form into 6-8 patties about 3/8 inch thick. In a small bowl, combine cheese, bacon, barbecue sauce and chopped onion. Place equal amounts of stuffing on half of the patties. Cover with the other patties and seal the edges by pressing them together with your fingers. Heat large saute pan or heavy bottomed skillet with oil. Sprinkle patties with a little flour, corn meal or bread crumbs. Place in hot pan and sear 2-3 minutes per side, or until done to your desire.
