Provolone with Lavender and Ginger

mild or aged provolone cheese
freshly grated ginger root
fresh lavender, finely snipped

Cut the cheese into bite sized cubes or pieces. Pierce with toothpicks and arrange on a beautiful plate. Sprinkle each with a tiny bit of grated ginger and snipped lavender. Great appetizer to pair with Chardonnay or Pinot Noir or Merlot. Go easy with the ginger! If desired, you could use sprinkles of powdered dried ginger, or even finely minced crystalline candied ginger.
