Makes a small loaf or a nice batch of dinner rolls. Use this as your simple recipe, changing the flours from white to whole wheat, rye, or buckwheat. I like to use 2 cups of unbleached all purpose organic flour and 1 cup buckwheat flour. It makes a dark loaf, lots of flavor, and a great texture. 1 cup warm water (110-115 degrees) For bread machines, place all ingredients into bread machine. Push the white bread setting. For hand kneading, combine all ingredients in bowl and then dump onto floured surface. Proceed as in "Hand Kneading Bread". Recipe created 1996-02-02. © 1996-2010 Dorothy McNett.
