Broccoli and Gorgonzola

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Serve these slightly warm with some good quality blue cheese on the side, such as a great Gorgonzola. Two strong flavors, blending together in perfect harmony.

Wash broccoli. If necessary, peel back any tough outer peelings on the stems. This is usually not necessary. Cut into long spears. Place in glass or ceramic dish, cover with a glass or ceramic plate, or a piece of parchment paper or even a big leaf of romaine, etc. (NEVER use plastic!) Cook in microwave, using 5 minutes per pound of vegetable as a basic guide. Usually one "grocery store" bunch of broccoli will take about 5 minutes. Do not overcook. Arrange warm spears of broccoli and the Gorgonzola on a beautiful platter. Provide a butter knife or spreader so that the cheese can be spread on the broccoli slices. Eat as a finger food, or serve on small plates with knives and forks.
