Cast Iron Biscuits

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com.

4 cups all purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
2/3 cup unsalted pure butter
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

1/4 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In food processor with steel chopping blade in place, whirl the flour, baking powder, soda, sugar and salt to blend. Cut butter into chunks and add to flour mixture, pulsing just enough to cut the butter into the flour. Add the buttermilk and just whril until mixture wants to form a ball. Remove to counter and with hands continue to knead the dough a little. Roll or pat out about 3/4 inch thick. Cut into biscuits and place in a well oiled 10 or 12 inch cast iron skillet. Microwave butter 30 seconds on high and pour over the biscuits. Bake about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
