Beef Strips with Soy Sauce and Garlic

1 pound or more of chuck roast
extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons good quality soy sauce
sea salt and freshly ground peppercorns
3-4 pieces stem ginger in syrup
1 - 3 cloves garlic

Using a boning knife cut around the bones to remove. Using a very sharp santuko or chef knife, cut the beef into thin strips across the grain. Using a sharp paring knife, slice the stem ginger into 2-3 pieces. Peel the cloves of garlic and dice finely. Marinate the beef strips in soy sauce, seasonings. To cook, heat oil in heavy bottomed skillet. Cook and stir the beef several minutes or until done. Garnish and serve.
