Clam Sauce for Pasta

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
1-2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
4 tablespoons white wine
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
pinch dried red chili pepper
1 can chopped clams and the juice, or about 12 fresh clams, steamed and chopped

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil and then add remaining ingredients. Heat slowly, do not boil. Serve with any cooked pasta.
