Sage Scone Appetizers

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com

1 package traditional scone mix, or your favorite recipe
fresh sage leaves
extra virgin olive oil
coarse sea salt

Follow the package directions if using the mix, or follow a basic scone recipe if making from scratch. To the flour mixture, add about 1/3 cup snipped fresh sage leaves. Pat the dough out into a circle on a parchment lined baking sheet to about 1/2 inch thickness. With fingertips, make indentations on the top but not all the way through the dough. Spread with oil and sprinkle with more leaves and sea salt. With a sharp knife, cut them into wedges. Bake as directed. Great served with chilled white wine, or even a rose wine or light red table wine.
