Baked Indonesian Style Chicken

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at

1/3 cup raw sugar
2 tablespoons hot water
2 tablespoons Ketjap Manis, or soy sauce
2 tablespoons sweet paprika
4-5 cloves garlic, minced
zest of a lime
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

2-3 pounds chicken pieces

In bowl, combine the sugar with the hot water to dissolve. Add soy, paprika, garlic, zest, lime juice and salt. Cover the chicken with the sauce and refrigerate several hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and arrange the chicken in a baking dish single layer. Bake about 45-60 minutes, or until chicken is done. Broiling or barbecue is fine, as well.
