Quick and easy! 1/3 cup unsalted butter Put butter in a 9 by 13 inch baking pan or dish. Set in cold oven, preheat oven to 450 degrees. In meantime, in batter bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk with a fork until blended, and then dump out onto a lightly floured work surface. Knead gently about 10 times and then flatten out with your hands to a rectangle about 8 by 12 inches. Cut dough in half lengthwise, and then crosswise into about 16 strips. Twist 2 strips together gently, sort of like one of those salted pretzel twists. When butter has melted and oven is hot, remove dish from oven and dip each twist in butter and place close together in the pan. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake about 15-18 minutes or until browned and done. Recipe created 2006-02-12. © 1996-2013 Dorothy McNett. All Rights Reserved. |
