Fresh and Easy Prawns

fresh prawns, about 1 pound
Wash and devein the prawns by slitting down the back with a sharp knife and pulling out the vein. Remove the shells if desired. Set aside. Using a microwave safe flat soup bowl or deep rimmed flat plate, combine oil, butter and garlic. Microwave on high 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients except for the cheese, cover with waxed paper or a plate. Microwave on high 2 minutes. Stir. Microwave another 1-2 minutes if needed, or until the prawns turn pink. DO NOT OVERCOOK! Stir in the grated cheese. Serve immeditely as an appetizer, as a main dish, as part of a salad, or whenever you are hungry.
