Brown Sugar Bourbon Peaches

2-4 servings

6 tablespoons bourbon or orange juice
1/4 cup brown sugar or date sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon real vanilla extract or vanilla paste
2 peaches, peeled and sliced (or cut in half)

vanilla ice cream or fruit sherbet, if desired

Combine bourbon or juice, sugar, butter and lemon juice in a heavy bottomed skillet. Heat over medium high heat, stirring until the brown sugar has dissolved. Add vanilla and peaches. Heat gently until peaches start to get hot and exude some juices. Serve warm with ice cream or sherbet, or just eat the wonderful warm peaches from a beautiful stemmed glass.
