Bockwurst and Pear Chutney Sandwiches

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at at www.dorothymcnett.com. Use as a sandwich, or slice into appetizer sized pieces and serve with Riesling wine!

2-4 white sausages such as Bockwurst, Weisswurst or Bratwurst
2 fresh Bartlett pears
1/3 cup chutney (so many versions available)
soft "long" rolls of good quality (like hot dog rolls but not the usual ones!)
extra virgin olive oil
baby greens or herbs,for garnish

First steam the bockwurst in a saute pan with about 2 inches of water, covered, for about 5-6 minutes.on medium heat. In meantime, slice the pears into thin slices. It may be necessary to place the slices on a plate, cover with waxed paper, and microwave on high for 1-2 minutes if they are very hard. Brush the inside of the rolls with the olive oil. Slice the sausages lengthwise but not all the way through, just to butterfly them. Place the sausages on the bread, arrange some pear slices in the wedge, and pile on some chutney. Garnish with some green leaves and enjoy!
