Wild Rice

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com.

3 cup water or broth
1 cup wild rice
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
a few grindings of pepper

Combine in a heavy bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce to low simmer. Cover. Cook gently for about 35-40 minutes, or until rice kernels are puffed and tender, and water is absorbed. Season to taste, and serve. For a great breakfast cereal, put some cooked wild rice in a bowl, sprinkle with brown sugar and dredge with milk or half and half. Enjoy!
