Apple Salsa or Salad Topping

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Serve with good quality potato chips and vegetable chips, over fresh greens or as a side dish to any meat or poultry dishes.

1 cup roasted hazelnuts (try the smokey ones!)
2 cloves garlic
2 medium apples, cut into chunks
1 small jalapeno, seeded
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
zest and juice of one lime
1/2 teaspoon brown sugar crystals
snipped fresh cilantro
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

chips for dipping

In food processor with steel chopping blade in place chop nuts and garlic coarsely. Add apple chunks, jalapeno halves, salt, zest and juice of lime, sugar, and cilantro. Pulse just to chop but not to puree. Add olive oil. Dump into a beautiful bowl and serve with the chips!
