To Dye For Salad

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at My friend, Carol Dye, stopped by for a chat and a glass of wine. I tossed this salad together with fresh ingredients I just happened to have on hand. The Roasted Garlic and Onion Jam is from Stonewall Kitchens and I recommend you always have one jar on hand. What a salad! Or, was it the view, the setting, friendship, and Italian white wine?

1 - 2 avocados
1 - 2 Bosc pears
1 cup cooked baby shrimp
1/4 pound Manchego or Arina Gouda Goat cheese
1-2 tablespoons Roasted Garlic Onion Jam
drizzle of extra virgin olive oil

sprinkles of black sea salt

Cube or dice up the avocado and pear. Toss together in a beautiful bowl with remaining ingredients and sprinkle some semi-coarse black sea salt crystals over all. Enjoy!
