Brandy Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at Serve this with any cake, pie, ice cream, cobbler, fruit cake, etc......and of course, you can use orange juice instead of the brandy.

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup brandy or orange juice

Place butter and powdered sugar in batter bowl. Microwave 1 minute, or until butter has melted and sugar is absorbed, adding 30 seconds more if needed. In another bowl whisk the egg yolks and then gradually whisk a little of the hot mixture into the yolks to slowly warm them so that they will not curdle. Whisk the warmed yolk mixture into the sugar mixture and microwave 30-40 seconds. Whisk in the brandy or orange juice. Serve warm over any dessert. Sauce will thicken slightly as it cools, but should remain pourable.
