Brown Sushi Rice
From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Serve this flavorful brown rice in a bowl along with a vegetable and seafood stir-fry. Use an electric rice cooker or your microwave oven for perfect rice steaming techniques.
1 cup brown rice
First cook the rice. If using microwave, place rice, water and salt in a 2-3 quart glass or ceramic casserole or batter bowl. Cover. Cook on High for 10 minutes, then on half power for 25 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Or, use your electric rice cooker, or steam the rice in a heavy bottomed saucepan with a lid until done. In meantime, heat vinegar, sugar and sake to dissolve the sugar. Pour over hot cooked rice, tossing to mix completely and serve.
