Fruit Compote
From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Add a few drizzles of Andy Boy Cactus Pear Vinaigrette for a special taste. Then, serve with Hemp Bars and a small scoop of Andy Boy Prickly Pear Sorbet! Ah, dessert!
1-2 oranges or tangerines
2-3 apples, unpeeled and diced
berries, bananas, etc. as desired
elderberry juice or concentrate, or other drizzling sauce, as desired
chopped coconut, fresh or unsweetened dried
Peel the oranges while holding over the serving dish to let the juices drip in. Cut oranges into chunks, removing seeds. Dice or slice the remaining fruits as needed, tossing with the oranges to coat. Sprinkle on the elderberry juice or vinaigrette. Top with a bit of coconut.
