Greek Salad

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Lettuce in Greece is generally limited to two kinds, Romaine and Boston lettuce. Lettuce was considered a potent anti-aphrodisiac...as Aphrodite used lettuce to take revenge on the men who turned down her amorous advances! This is probably why one rarely sees "lettuce salad" in Greece!

2-3 red ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges
sliced cucumber
1 - 2 green onions, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced and diced
black olives
chunks of feta cheese
2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1-2 tablespoons vinegar
pinches of oregano
salted capers

Toss everything together and serve!
