Tartar Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Make your own homemade mayonnaise if desired. Otherwise, use your favorite commercial mayonnaise. Feel free to change the flavors by changing the kind of herbs used! If desired, add 1 hard cooked egg, finely diced.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon capers, drained
2 tablespoons chopped gherkins or sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh tarragon, or other herbs, as desired

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving for flavors to blend nicely.
