If making the recipe for Pasta Herb Squares, make this sauce using the same herb that you used inside the pasta squares. I am using chervil. 2 tablespoons olive oil Heat oil in heavy bottomed saute pan or saucepan over medium heat. Add diced onion. Cook and stir until it has softened and is turning a bit brown. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and herbs. Cook over medium heat about 8-10 minutes. It depends on the tomatoes so just cook until it looks like a nice pasta sauce consistency. Remove from the heat and allow to stand about 5-10 minutes and then add the mozzarella. Pour over your favorite cooked pasta, garnish and serve. Recipe created 2012-06-06. © 1996-2013 Dorothy McNett.
