Chocolate Strawberry Delights for a Delighitful Mother's Day!

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Use other berries and/or fresh fruits of the season and just create! This is a great companion to frozen desserts like sherbets and ice cream.

12 or more crispy thin crackers or cookies, or even crostini
6 fresh strawberries, sliced
dollops of best quality jam
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
sprinkles of semi-coarse sea salt (black, coral, etc.)

Cut the berries into thin slices and set aside. Put the chocolate chips into a glass measuring cup for 30 seconds in microwave. Stir and heat for another 30 seconds, stir well. If not melted, heat for another 30 seconds. Stir well to finish the melting. Dollop each cracker or cookie with a small bit of jam and arrange a berry slice over it. Drizzle with some of the melted chocolate and sprinkle with a few grains of salt. Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour, to harden the chocolate. Serve!
