Butterscotch Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. What a wonderful and easy dessert sauce...pour over cakes, pancakes, ice cream, etc.

1 cup sugar (raw brown sugar is best)
2 tablespoons unbleached all purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup water

Combine all ingredients in heavy bottomed saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a silicone spatula. Boil for 1 - 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat. Serve hot, warm, or cool.
