Olive Peppered Biscuits

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Use any pitted olives. I like to use some black kalamatas and some pimiento stuffed green olives.

3 cups unbleached all purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/3 - 1/2 cup sliced olives

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In food processor with steel chopping blade in place, whirl the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper to blend nicely. Add the cold butter and pulse a few times to cut the butter into small pieces. Add the buttermilk and olives, process only a couple of times to get it blended. Remove dough to a lightly floured counter and gently knead about 10 times to form a nice ball of dough. Roll out about 1/2 - 3/4 inch thick. Cut as desired and place on a baking sheet. Bake 14-15 minutes, or until done and nicely browned.
