Warm Apricots with Almonds

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Serve these as a dessert all by themselves, or with some ice cream. Cook at least 1 apricot per person.

4-6 fresh apricots (Blenheims preferred)
1 tablespoon raw sugar
1-2 tablespoons unsalted butter
sprinkles of ground nutmeg, or cinnamon
8-12 raw almonds

Cut each apricot in half and carefully remove the pit. Place the apricot halves in a glass or ceramic pie dish or other casserole with the cut sides up. Sprinkle with a little sugar and nutmeg or cinnamon. Cut butter into small pieces and place a piece in the cavity, along with a whole raw almond. Cook in microwave for about 3 - 4 minutes. It depends on the size of the cots as well as the quantity. Calculate about 1 minute or less per whole apricot. So if cooking 4 apricots (8 halves), it may take about 3-4 minutes. Allow to cool down a bit, and then serve.
