Carrots with Dill and Maple Syrup

1 pound fresh local carrots
Scrub the carrots but do not peel. Cut into serving sized pieces and place in a glass or ceramic batter bowl and add the butter. Cover with a glass or ceramic plate or lid. Cook in microwave for 3 - 4 minutes, until tender when pierced with a fork but do not overcook. Add the maple syrup, dill and salt. Serve hot, warm, or chilled. If using as an appetizer spread some brie on a cracker or bread slice. Cut the carrots to fit nicely on top and drizzle with some of the dill maple sauce.
