Lemon Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's Recipe Book at www.dorothymcnett.com. Pour this into demitasse cups while hot, allow to cool and serve with fresh strawberries or other fruits.

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated zest of lemon, orange, or lime
1 tablespoon water
1 egg

Microwave butter on high 30 seconds. Whisk in remaining ingredients. Microwave 1 minute, whisk well. Microwave another 1-2 minutes, or until thickened, whisking well. Serve over steamed puddings, fruits, cakes, or ice cream and sherbets.
