Baked Bean Spread

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at A quick and delicious appetizer when spread over crisp bread slices or crackers and served with greens, sliced apples, cheeses, etc. as desired. A good way to use those leftover baked beans from the picnic or barbeque!

1 cup homemade baked beans
1-2 green onions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
1-2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely snipped
zest of 1 lemon or lime
1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
pinch of salt, if needed.
dash of Tabasco, as desired

Mash the beans to a smooth paste, add the remaining ingredients. Serve with crackers or crostini, vegetables, sliced apples, green endive, etc.
