Pear and Avocado Salsa

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. A great combination of flavors for yet another version of a guacamole! Use as a side sauce for pancakes, pierogies, fajitas, and more...

1 - 2 red ripe tomatoes
1-2 ripe pears (crispy or soft)
1 - 2 avocados
2-3 green onions
3-4 cloves garlic
1 jalapeno pepper, or other peppers as desired, roasted or not
zest and juice of 1 lime or lemon
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon raw sugar or honey
1/4 - 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

bread slices, crackers, raw vegetables, chips, for dipping and spreading

Coarsely chop tomatoes and pears (do not peel) and place in a bowl. Cut avocado in half and remove the pit and using a spoon remove the avocado. Cut into small pieces and add to the bowl. Slice the green onions and chop the garlic and jalapeno, add to the bowl along with the zest and juice, salt, sugar and cilantro. Gently toss so that the avocado and pear slices "mush" up a bit. Taste to make sure seasonings are perfect, adding more peppers, salt, sugar as needed. Scoop into beautiful bowl and serve!
