2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
In heavy bottomed stock pot or large sauce pan, heat the oil. Add the chopped onion and green pepper. Cook and stir several minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to medium low and cook, loosely covered, at least 2 hours, perhaps even a bit longer. The meat will be fall apart tender and all of the flavors blended.
