Brussels Sprouts with Olive Oil and Cheese

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at Alison McNett, as a child of 3 to 4 years old, announced in preschool that this was her favorite vegetable.

fresh Brussels sprouts
drizzles of extra virgin olive oil
grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese

Wash and trim. Insert toothpick into sprouts, place in glass or ceramic bowl, cover with glass or ceramic lid. (no plastic!) Cook in microwave, using about 4 minutes per pound of veggies as a guide. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and roll each in finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano. Arrange on a beautiful platter and serve as a snack, or appetizer, or vegetable side dish!
