T - Bone Steak with Mountain BBQ Sauce

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Use any good quality tender cut of meat, or even chicken to go with Mountain Barbeque Sauce. It's the nice strong black coffee mixed with good quality catsup that makes it sing like a song!

Mountain Barbeque Sauce (see recipe)
2 - 3 T-bone steaks, or rib eye, porterhouse, etc.
grapeseed or other oil for rubbing the steak
sprinkles of sea salt and freshly ground pepper
1-2 tablespoons red wine or beer, or broth
fresh sliced tomatoes
lettuce leaves

Prepare the barbeque sauce and set it aside. Rub each steak with just a drizzle of oil and pat in the salt and pepper. Heat a grill pan or a heavy bottomed skillet over high heat. When nice and hot, put in the seasoned steaks. Cook 1-3 minutes on each side, or to your desired doneness. Remove steaks to plate and put the wine or beer into the hot pan, stirring constantly to bring up the flavorful bits left in the pan. Now quickly add 3 -4 tablespoons of the barbeque sauce. Do not let it burn, get it nice and hot. Pour the sauce over the steaks. Place the remaining barbeque sauce into a bowl and serve with the steaks, garnished with sliced tomatoes and lettuce.
