Appetizer or Side Dish Steak

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at Cook 1 small steak and then cut into small bite sized pieces and serve as an appetizer or side dish with cheeses, greens, and more. Who says steak has to be the main dish!

1 filet steak or other steak of choice
olive oil
semi coarse sea salt and freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried herbs, such as Herbs d Provence, etc.

Rub both sides of the steak with some olive oil and then sprinkle and press in the salt, pepper and herbs. Heat a nice heavy bottomed skillet or grill pan and then cook about 2 minutes on the first side, turn and cook another 2 - 3 minutes or until done to your liking. Cool and slice and serve with lots of other flavorful goodies such as greens, cheeses, condiments and etc. as an appetizer.
