Hot Chocolate Wine
From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. A great cold weather chocolate drink, sort of like a mulled wine but with chocolate instead of spices!
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 - 1/2 cup cabernet sauvignon, or other red wine
whipped cream, if desired for serving
In glass or ceramic bowl or measuring cup combine the chocolate chips with the milk, Heat in microwave 1 minute. Stir, and heat another 1 - 2minutes or until chocolate has melted and milk is hot. Add the wine and heat another 30 -45 seconds or more to get it nice and hot but not boiling. Serve in cups and garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
