Barbeque Sauce for Everything!

From Dorothy McNett's recipes at www.dorothymcnett.com. Clean out the refrigerator and make a special sauce! Barbecue sauces need a nice balance of sweet, sour, salty, spicey, and smokey. This is great with ribs, burgers, steaks, chicken and fish, lamb, vegetables and on and on! Outdoor barbecue, or indoor grilling!

1/4 cup blueberry or blackberry jam
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons blackstrap molasses
1 cup tomato sauce or catsup
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
dash of hot sauce, as desired
freshly ground pepper

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce to low simmer and cook about 15 minutes. Or, combine all ingredients in a glass or ceramic batter bowl. Cook in microwave on high for 3 minutes, stir, and cook on half power (power level 5) for 10 minutes. Cool and use as desired.
